Carry out the duties of an Overseas Hired Teacher as set out in the Personnel Manual.
To model the traits of the BSJ Learner Profile and work collaboratively with all other members of staff.

Teachers will
Have knowledge of and keep up to date with the relevant Curriculum developments for IB MYP, IB DP (and CP courses where applicable), including a full knowledge and understanding of inquiry ba
Have a sound knowledge of the MYP 1-5 curriculum.
Educate the ‘whole child’ and recognise that students’ learning is affected by their physical, intellectual, emotional and social development.
Integrate technology into lessons, selecting the most appropriate tool for effective learning.
Be familiar with the school’s current systems and structures as outlined in policy documents and school improvement plans.
Teachers will:
Plan and deliver a rigorous teaching programme, which incorporates key content, skills and learning opportunities, which can be identified in detailed unit plans.

Use IB Approaches to Teaching and Approaches to Learning in order to develop learning skills and incorporate the IB learner profile and elements of the Core curriculum where relevant
Provide effective and differentiated teaching of whole classes, groups and individuals, in order to challenge all levels of ability, establishing high expectations of behaviour and attainment and where necessary following behaviour management procedures.
Be familiar with the Home School Agreement and all relevant policies
Be familiar with any action plans and support provided to students with individual educational needs, the gifted more able and talented and English as a second language and adjust teaching accordingly.
